This rigorous course is designed for Parker students who have excelled in Physics. Topics include atomic theory, periodicity, bonding, molecular shapes, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, solutions, intermolecular forces, phases of matter, acid-base theory, and equilibrium. Students expand their knowledge of the scientific method by designing and carrying out experiments in the laboratory. The depth and rigor of this course are designed to prepare students for AP Chemistry.
Parker students wishing to enroll in this course must receive approval in advance from the Science Department.
Prerequisites include B+ in Physics Advanced, A+ in Physics or B in AP Physics 1.
